There are two ways of removing a scheduled item from the schedule:
- Cancel the appointment by recording an associated interaction with a status of Cancelled
- Delete the appointment by clicking on
Here are the differences between each:
Cancelling the appointment
Cancelling the appointment leaves the information available on your interaction history. This may be valuable - it may be useful to know that a visit was scheduled but cancelled by someone. Interaction notes about the cancellation could add important context to the situation.
Cancelling the appointment is a feature available to all users at all security levels.
Deleting the appointment
Deleting the appointment removes the appointment from your schedule. There is no history for it.
Deleting is probably the best option if a schedule is created in error.
Deleting the appointment is a feature available only to users with an Administrator security level.
Deleted records can always be recovered by an Administrator from the Admin => Restore From Archive page.
